I am so sad the crazy freaks on the far right bounced Hunstman out of this election. Huntsman is my guy.  He would have won the general election easily.  Obama is probably my guy at this point, for a number of reasons, but I won’t be able to really tell because the right candidate is a disaster - instead of stating his true beliefs like a leader (pro-choice, pro-gun-control, inventor of Obama Care), he is being led around by the insanity of the far right.  It’s too bad Mitt Romney doesn’t want to be a leader, but just wants to be president.
 

He can still win, but he has to get real. I don’t necessarily want anyone that wants to be president to actually win, because they probably don’t deserve it.
 

The problem is that Obama is more of a moderate than people think, because of all the misinformation.  He’s not muslim, he’s not socialist, and 4 years is generally not enough time to see the impact of a president.  For a left-leaning nobel peace prize winner, he has acted like a jingoist warhawk & killed more people than any past president - he is literally the opposite of the way Republicans have painted him.  What has happened in these 4 years won’t provide results until the next 4, so whoever is in office will get those spoils as the economy returns.  I almost think, left or right, thick or thin, presidents should just be for 8 years total, and we should back them. Maybe. Maybe I just want to have to cope with this nonsense once every 8 years instead of 4.  I am not defending Obama here, just wanting clear truths.

That’s not some liberal rag- that’s marketwatch, and those numbers could be lies, but it doesn’t seem so. So why does everyone think Obama is a socialist big government guy when he has spent less than any president in the last 50 years with the lowest growth rate of federal spending?  It’s because of lies.  I don’t know what to trust… should we trust marketwatch? Would you trust them, or someone running for president?

The fact the right is still using this is sort of appalling…. it used to be that someone would fess up to an editing error, or something, but they are so brazen with the outright lies…. that’s something that is really making me not trust Romney.  I don’t like anyone that wants to be president, but I really don’t like someone who lies about his beliefs, just as he uses lies to attack his competition.  It’s bizarre and wrong.

“We’ve already made a trillion dollars’ worth of cuts.  We can make some more cuts in programs that don’t work, and make government work more efficiently…We can make another trillion or trillion-two, and what we then do is ask for the wealthy to pay a little bit more …

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me, because they want to give something back.  They know they didn’t -look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.  You didn’t get there on your own.  I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.  There are a lot of smart people out there.  It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.  Let me tell you something – there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.  There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges.  If you’ve got a business. you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.  The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.  Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.  There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own.  I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service.  That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

So we say to ourselves, ever since the founding of this country, you know what, there are some things we do better together.  That’s how we funded the GI Bill.  That’s how we created the middle class.  That’s how we built the Golden Gate Bridge or the Hoover Dam.  That’s how we invented the Internet.  That’s how we sent a man to the moon.  We rise or fall together as one nation and as one people, and that’s the reason I’m running for president – because I still believe in that idea.  You’re not on your own, we’re in this together.”

The cynicism of knowing your voter base is so trusting, credulous, or stupid, that you can manipulate yourself to victory on a bed of lies… well.. that’s pretty cynical, and we don’t need cynicism right now.  ”The man who dines on hope goes hungry for dinner”, but the man who feeds off the trough of cynicism develops cancer.

So Romney campaign - I am undecided, because I haven’t really heard what the two candidates are going to do, in any meaningful way.  If you keep with the lies, half truths, and misinformation, tricking your constituency - how much trust will the undecided people have in a president who can’t even voice his true opinions on a matter?

Shape up. Make this about *actual* issues. Tell us what you really believe, so you can be yourself, stop being so wooden, and become a human man that might be able to lead, instead of just be led.  Seriously.  If you want to win, you need to thrash the insanity of your party. I promise you won’t lose those votes, anyway.  No one would vote for a Muslim, Pinko, Socialist from your side, so let that be the last lie that works in your favor.
